Their move saw a number of Portwenn residents become emotional, especially Mrs Tishell, who was implored by Aunt Ruth to tear down her shrine dedicated to the doctor before having a meltdown on the roof of the Ellingham's moving van. Tonight's (October 26) episode saw the Ellinghams start to pack their lives into boxes, with Martin selling furniture from his surgery to raise money for charity ahead of his family's big move to London. Since Martin Clunes first played him just over 18 years ago, cantankerous GP Martin Ellingham has become a beloved character on our screens, with his grumpy, direct nature winning the hearts of plenty of fans across the globe. It was an emotional night for Doc Martin fans as they waved goodbye to the Ellinghams and Portwenn in the final episode of the 10th - and final - series.
